The American chain of chicken restaurants Chick-fil-A began construction of its second restaurant in Bayamón, which will be located in Los Filtros Shopping Center, next to the Costco wholesale club.
The establishment, which is in addition to the one that the company is building in the Plaza del Sol shopping center, would open its doors in 2022, according to a sign that was placed outside the structure.
Chick-fil-A had confirmed that it would open two restaurants in Bayamón, but had only reported details of the contract with Plaza del Sol, whose store would open in the fourth quarter of 2021, and Plaza Escorial, in Carolina, where it would open in the first quarter of 2022. Likewise, Chick-fil-A is also building a restaurant in Plaza Palma Real, in Humacao.
The company’s plans are to build 10 to 15 restaurants in Puerto Rico in the next five years. It is estimated that each establishment will employ an average of 75 people.
